I currently have over 100 .net core micro services running on linux vm's that coordinate 100's of CNC machines. We initially used node.js but the size of the cloned images were 1.5 gig each. CNC shops are loathe to allow Internet access on the floor so they needed to shut down for the weekend to deploy the images. The .net core images top off at about 200 meg.
